The Alpha Chapter Heritage
Founded in 1924 at USC, Sigma Phi Delta Alpha Chapter is the founding chapter of the premier international engineering fraternity. Rechartered in 2023 after a brief dormancy, we're now recruiting our Fall 2025 class.
Historic Chapter House
Our house at 817 W 30th Street, built as the Japanese Consulate by J.M. Simpson (architect of Doheny Library), has been our home since 1942.
Engineering Excellence
Our brothers pursue engineering degrees at USC, developing skills and connections that lead to careers at top companies across the industry. Our chapter serves as a hub for professional development and lasting friendships.
Our Mission & Values
Led by Shawn Chauhan, our chapter was rechartered on December 1, 2023, marking a new era at USC. We're recruiting exceptional students for Fall 2025.

Our Brotherhood Philosophy
At SPD Alpha, we're creating a brotherhood that mirrors the bond you have with your best friends from high school back home. Here, brothers have each other's backs no matter what - we celebrate each other's successes as our own and stand together during difficult times. This unconditional support creates lifelong bonds that extend far beyond your years at USC.
The Alpha Legacy & Fall 2025
As the founding chapter with 100+ years of excellence, we set the standard. Join Fall 2025 and become part of this historic legacy.
